The Race
A test of consistency. And resolve.
Each golfer in a foursome has their own birdie perch. Every birdie earns a permanent place on the rack, a visible record of progress. The objective is simple: complete all eighteen holes before anyone else.
King of the Course
Claim a hole. Defend it.
A single Birdie Perch is displayed in the pro shop or clubhouse. When a member birdies a hole, their name is recorded on the ball and placed in the corresponding position. That hole becomes theirs until another golfer birdies it and takes possession.
Some holes change hands quickly. Others remain untouched for weeks. The true distinction lies in holding the most holes at the end of the month. And then the board resets.
The Duel
Where nothing is ever settled.
Two golfers share one Birdie Perch. Each birdie secures control of a hole on the rack. But control is never permanent as any hole may be taken back by a later birdie.
The match continues until all eighteen holes have been birdied. So if one hole is still untouched, everything is still up for grabs. When the final position is decided, the winner earns the right to keep the perch.
The Family Quest
One perch. One family.
Hang the perch in the house or at the Grandparents house by the golf course. Try and see if the family can combine to birdie every hole in the season. After a birdie the family member writes their name on the ball and places it on the rack. A worthy mission that will get kids on the golf course and proud to see their golf balls displayed in the home.
